Support Worker
I did my social work placement for Edge in 2022, where I developed a real admiration for the team and what they do daily for each and every resident. Edge isn't only just a team of professionals who are paid to do their job. They are like one big family who really care about your health and wellbeing. I went into the care system in 2016 following a family breakdown, I sadly lost my mum to addiction. I didn't know my mum, but I never held any resentment over it I was sad that I lost her. But this what drives me to do the work I do today, if I can help someone out of addiction then I know I've done a good job. Since graduating with BA (Hons) in Social work I've worked at OHH and The Porch day Centre who gave me such a power insight into the struggles homeless people face such as a lifetime of inequalities in the health and housing system. I have a real passion into driving trauma informed practice and promoting safety, transparency and empowerment.
